1. COVER UP
Keeping your hands covered up is one of the best winter nail care tips, keeping them shielded from the cold weather reduces damage. You can also take it a step further and apply a lot of hand cream before bed for it to soak in while you sleep. You'll wake up to noticeably softer, smoother hands in the morning.
2. KEEP LOTION HANDY
Lotion helps keep your hands and nails moisturized so you are less likely to have brittle nails or gnarly cuticles . Make it absolutely necessary to moisturize your hands after each and every time you was your hands so they stay hydrated.
3. USE NAIL POLISH REMOVER SPARINGLY
Overusing nail polish , especially in winter , can be drying to your nails. It's difficult to use it less when you live changing up your nail color often but try limit it to once a week and use non-acetone remover. It's less drying on the nails and helps the nail keep its natural moisture . And whatever you do! Don't pick or peel off your nail polish ,so bad for your nails .
4. READ LABELS
Ingredients to look out for when shopping for a moisturizer are: urea, phospholipids and lactic acid
They are all helpful in maintaining moisture and keeps the nails from damaging. Remember to apply moisturizer even after nail polish is applied .
5. EAT WELL
Foods that are rich in Vitamin B and protein will be good in looking after your nails. These are foods such as spinach , fish , bananas and lean poultry .
Now you know all that you need to know for nail care.
One thing left is to add the colors that are in for winter (see below). P.s. ALWAYS apply base coat before applying dark colors so that they don't stain your natural nail.
These are my personal favorites , but if you have any questions or anything you'd like to add, please feel free to do so.
Happy manicure days ladies :)
