I have never been a fan of change... It's always scared me to think , what if? And literally every 'what if situation' would come to mind, until one day, my heart drew the line and said "Enough is Enough"... For someone that doesn't like change and prefers structure , leaving my comfort zone to follow my dream of happiness and self-acknowledgement , was a huge thing, but it made me excited!
I made myself aware of exactly what I want and don’t want. I needed to connect with my mind, heart, and soul.It meant that I needed to follow what my heart ached for and to choose not to do the things that drained my spirit.
1. Create Perspective:
There comes a time in everyone's life where they need to make a choice. This choice can and most probably will define the rest of our lives. But, one needs to make this choice and needs to be made sooner rather than later.
2. Accept Reality:
No matter how glamorous it may seem to follow your dreams, it's not easy. In your mind, you may picture yourself driving fancy cars, having free time to meet up with friends and sipping cocktails on some island you've always wanted to go to. It might happen someday, but it's not going to happen overnight.
In actual REALITY, if you quit your job and chase your dream, you need to be ready to work harder than ever!! In the beginning, you'll have a lot more time on your hands.. TIME is MONEY , so learn to use it wisely. Try and spend as much time as you can on creating your new business.
3. Assess your situation:
Are the sacrifices and risks worth the chance of extra happiness? There's no cut off number that you need to follow to make your dream happen and every person's situation is different. I can't tell you what to decide, but I knew it was worth it for me. I was fairly happy , but not at 10/10. Yes I had great friends and fun with my colleagues , but something was missing and I needed to find out what it was. So I decided to leave work behind and chase my dreams. The moment I did that, something clicked inside me. It was scary but for the first time in my life, I felt like I was on the verge of taking control of my life.
4. Overcome FEAR:
It took a lot of courage to quit, but I had made the decision and I wasn’t going back. Self Confidence, is SO important, trust yourself and your abilities. Look at worst case scenario, create a plan and cut out procrastination!
5. Take the Plunge:
You’ve made your decision, you’ve overcome your fears, and you’re not going to look back. It’s time to take the plunge.
The world looks different to me; more vibrant and colorful. I feel completely liberated and I know it's ONLY up to ME, to make a
success of what I choose to do!
For Once, CHANGE is my FRIEND ;)
